Splunk 8.2 has been released. This latest release includes lots of great new features – and an app to help you to learn more about them!

New to Splunk 8.2 is the Dashboard Studio, a new dashboard builder allowing greater control over the look of your dashboards. The Splunk Secure Gateway App is also included in this release, which supports the Splunk Connected Experiences mobile app. For admins, you can now see a Health Report across a distributed environment, as well as making improvements to allow for easier auditing. New infrastructure capabilities include Federated search in hybrid deployments and support for merging buckets in standalone instances. On top of this, there are performance upgrades, as well as support for the Splunk Operator for Kubernetes.

To help you to get started with these new features, Splunk has created the Splunk Essentials for Cloud and Enterprise 8.2 app, which provides a guide to each of the new features available. You can install this app from Splunkbase and click on each of the new key features to learn more about them.
